Educational Project

The educational program is based on a personalized pedagogical approach, guided by the fundamental principle of observing, caring for, and getting to know each child, and supporting them in realizing their full potential. It also emphasizes true pedagogical differentiation, with an educational approach focused on tailored work for each student rather than on the teacher’s lecture-style instruction.

The educational program at Colégio Saint Daniel Brottier also prioritizes English language proficiency, with daily English classes, preparing students for today’s global, intercultural, and internationally mobile world.

Differentiated instruction

The teacher’s instructional approach is tailored flexibly to each student, so that each one, in accordance with their individual learning plan, can progress to more challenging material from other grade levels or catch up on content they find more difficult. Personalized pedagogical relationship
A teaching-learning process centered on the student as an individual and on social interaction: in the classroom, the teacher prepares specific materials and tasks for each student, monitoring each child’s performance on their individual learning path.

Daily self-study time

Scheduled work sessions during which students, either individually or in pairs, reinforce curricular skills through various activities outlined in their Individual Work Plan.
During self-directed study periods, the teacher provides support, on a rotating and systematic basis, to students who are struggling, or encourages them to build on their strengths to advance in specific areas of learning.

Putting Learning into Context

Learning is contextualized, building on what students already know or bring from their own experiences into the school setting. We seek to integrate and give meaning to children’s prior knowledge by developing meaningful activities that actively engage our students in the process of constructing their own knowledge.

Weekly meeting

Sessions for planning and evaluating the week’s work—both individual and group—including class meetings, held at the end of each week. Participating in these sessions allows students to become familiar from an early stage with the dynamics required for group work, which is essential for effectively managing their work and for the conscious development of their learning.

Knowledge sharing

Communication is one of the fundamental strategies of the MEM’s educational approach, while also playing a key role in students’ cognitive development and social formation. Students’ frequent sharing of their work and the knowledge they have acquired at various times throughout the day brings the social dimension of learning to life.

Daily Summary

A daily review of the work completed as a group and individually, based on the daily plan set each morning.

Everyday English

English is a mandatory subject taught daily at CSDB starting at age 3. As an Official Cambridge University Examination Center, the school administers annual assessments at various levels in accordance with the Cambridge University system.
